Salmon Glaze Recipe
This glazed salmon is made by pan-searing the fish until beautifully golden, then drizzling the delicious homemade salmon glaze on top. The flavors of the garlic and the ginger permeate the fish and make it juicy and delicious.
The salmon glaze can be drizzled over just the fish, or over the rice and veggies as well. Every bit of the glaze makes the whole dish taste so fancy and sophisticated, even my kids who are very picky when it comes to sauces mopped up the glaze and asked for more!
Ways to cook Salmon
You could bake the salmon by drizzling the sauce over it before sending it in the oven, or you can cook it in the skillet and pour the thickened glaze on top as you serve it. Either way, this salmon glaze gives the salmon a very lovely Asian flare, with just a hint of ginger and garlic in it, we loved it!
What can I serve this ginger salmon recipe with?
Serve this fish with a side of rice, rice noodles, or mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli, asparagus or any other greens. We also enjoy the ginger salmon over a Cobbsalad(in place of chicken) or with a simple Cucumber Salad.

Ingredients for Honey Glazed Salmon:
For this recipe use a skinned and de-boned salmon. Wild is best, but farm-raised will work too. Be careful not to overcook the wild salmon, otherwise, it will be very dry.
For the glaze use either fresh and grated ginger, or powdered ginger. Both will add just the right amount of ginger flavor to the glaze and make it delicious.
Salmon Glaze:
Honey, ginger, and garlic are the main ingredients in this glaze so do not omit those. Without it, it’s just not the same. Regular soy sauce can be replaced with low sodium soy sauce.
How to make Honey Glazed Salmon:
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan, mix and bring to a boil, then simmer until thick. Thickening the sauce will ensure that the honey glaze stays on top of the salmon instead of running off.
- Season the salmon on both sides with pepper. In a skillet heat oil over high heat, add the salmon and cook until golden on both sides, depending on the thickness of your salmon it will take about 5-6 minutes per side.
- Transfer the salmon fillet to a serving dish and drizzle the sauce over top. Eat hot, right away.
