Our Verdict
Max this out with a single order of three $100 Visa e-gift cards, and you’ll end up with a bit of savings. The fee is $5.95 per card, and you’ll get $10 off. Total should be $4.05 ‘profit’ per card which some might find worthwhile.Readers were saying with prior dealsthatshopping portals were tracking. That would sweeten the deal somewhat. YMMV.

They kept cancelling my orders when I paid directly with my CC. I tried creating a new account, using a different email, and using an old address. Finally got it to go through by paying with Apple Pay. Hopefully my Citi merchant offer still tracks properly.

So Paypal bill pay rejected this gift card.
Then Paypal bill pay also rejected my 3 consecutive Staples 200$ Visa gift cards.
I called the Visa number (888-524-1283) that is on the back of the gift cards. They promptly resent the 3 200$ gift cards. After some polite enquiry, they said Paypal has been “banned” by Visa. So more often than not, those Visas will will stop working with Paypal. Damn it!!
Also once I use it on Paypal bill pay, the card is closed and won’t work again!

Everything that used to work no longer work… utilities, amazon reload, paypal (able to add but payments rejected), rent, nike. All transactions have failed.

None of my utilities take them, neither directly or through Paypal Billpay. Thankfully only spent 100$ to test.
No luck for Costco too, either directly using the number of Visa pay.

Not yet. “Use of coupon/promotional codes not listed on Rakuten may void Cash Back.”
Best to wait to see if the code gets listed on Rakuten’s page.

Was hesitant on pulling the trigger after reading all the issues with liquidation, but I gave it a shot to try it on my auto policy and I am glad I did. Purchased and was able to drain the $300 immediately on my auto insurance (Safeco). If I get 3% CB on BCE that is icing on the cake.

I used to be able to use these to pay my rent online (my apartment uses Yardi Systems as its processor for credit and debit card payments) but now it keeps failing with address verification issues. Google Fiber took them fine though.
