Tips on How to Make Healthy Soup Recipes

Soup is one of my all time favorite foods because it’s comforting, easy to make ahead of time and can be full of nutrients.

Here are some tips on how to make healthy soup recipes:

  • Add veggies! I LOVE veggie-heavy soups like Beef and Vegetable Soup, but you can add extra veggies to any soups. Try adding green peppers to chili, broccoli to creamy soups, etc.
  • Try out substitutions for cream. I love Nut Pods non-dairy creamer, almond milk, or even Greek yogurt.
  • Use chickpea or lentil pasta in place of regular pasta for any soup that uses noodles

How to Freeze Healthy Soup

  • I love freezing in individual portions in my Souper Cubes so I don’t have to thaw the whole batch
  • For space saving, pour the soup in a Ziploc or reusable food bag and lay flat in your freezer
  • Reheat frozen soup on the stovetop in a pan or covered in the microwave
